Our Mums, Bubs n Toddlers classes are for Mums with children aged between 3 months and 3 years old. This is an opportunity to do something nurturing for yourself whilst bonding with your child in a playful, healthy way.
Yoga is a great way for Mums to strengthen their bodies and calm their minds. To be the best parent we can be, we must look after ourselves first and yoga is a wonderful way to learn how to do that. It can bring balance and peace into our lives so that we can share that with our children. It is also a great opportunity to meet other mums in a non-competitive, non-judgemental environment. A time to come together, create new friendships and feel supported on your journey of motherhood.
For infants, this is a beautiful introduction to interacting socially with other children without any pressure to be anything other than themselves. Babies are natural yogis, all born with tremendous flexibility. Yoga can help maintain this whilst also building strength in their developing bodies. Yoga can also help improve sleep patterns, digestion, constipation and colic.
Dad’s, Grandparents, Carers and siblings are also welcome to attend our Mums, Bubs n Toddlers classes. Yoga really is for every BODY so come along, make new friends and share this valuable gift with your precious child.

In our Advanced Yoga classes, at Body Yoga Berwick, sometimes we like to simply hang about. This is a variation of Virasana in the ropes and as you can see is a real hit with everyone! Our purpose built yoga studio with wall ropes is the perfect space to turn your world upside down and challenge yourself whilst being in a safe and supportive environment.
At Body Yoga Berwick we have kids yoga for ages 3-5, 5-8 and 8-12 years old.
For preschoolers, kids yoga can be a great way for children to have their first experience of being away from Mum. At Body Yoga Berwick, we have created an environment that is safe and emotionally supportive for all children and parents. Our pre-schoolers have a positive experience so they feel confident and happy being in a group in a new environment. Yoga is non-judgemental and most of all fun so children feel happy and at home in our yoga space.
For the older kids, yoga is a great opportunity for children to be themselves. They are supported and nurtured and given the freedom to express themselves whilst always coming from a space of love and respect for one another.
I recently read an article by Annette Loudon – “Yoga and Breast Cancer”. While the focus of the article was on yoga for breast cancer, the paragraph on the benefits of yoga apply to everyone. Annette wrote:
“Yoga offers a means to work on ourselves on all these levels in a way that respects and honours whatever state our body is in. The breath can change an agitated mind and tense body to a calm mind and relaxed body. Pranayama (the use of breath or prana) can balance the nervous system. “Witnessing practices”can enable awareness of what is happening in the present, without being drawn into fear or other negative emotions. Chanting can change a negative mind to a positive mind. Gentle then gradually stronger yoga postures and movements with the breath restores a sense of body and health and brings about a sense of recovery. In time, the progression of postures(asana) rebuilds strength and vitality in a way suited to each individual. At every stage, meditation allows self-defeating thought patterns to change. As fear and negative thought patterns subside meditation enables a reconnection with that deep inner sense of constant and pure self that is always present, no matter what else is happening in people’s lives. ”
