I’m always looking for meaningful books to add to our Kids Body Yoga library and I am delighted to have been asked to review one such book. I am a huge fan of Victoria Boutenko and the Raw Family (www.rawfamily.com) so to review a book written by Victoria’s daughter Valya, was an honour.
“Will You Love Me Still?” is a delightful children’s book aimed at a young audience. Beautifully illustrated with a cat as the main character, this book explores, in easy to understand terms, unconditional love. Young children know how to love unconditionally and they do, but unfortunately they often see that adults don’t always do the same. This book supports the idea that no matter what a child does, they will always be loved. Books such as these are great ways to bring our “off the mat yoga” into the lives of our children. They are also a lovely reminder to us to be more child-like (our natural state) and do as they do – love one another unconditionally.
Thank you Valya for such an inspirational book.
If you would like to support Valya (who self-publishes and prints her children’s books) you can purchase “Will You Love Me Still?” at Amazon.com
I am sharing this story with you in the hope that it may just inspire one person to follow their dreams. This is a story written by my 17 year old daughter whilst in Cambodia. She is a strong, brave and fearless star! She has worked all year to save for her 5th trip and we are all so incredibly proud of her. She continues to grow and transform into the most beautiful, caring, open hearted, selfless being that I know. This is her story…… (more…)

This is a great book to get you started in the basics of asana practice. It gives you the sanskrit name and meaning of each asana, as well as detail on how to enter and exit the pose. A great place to start your practice and highly recommended to students of Body Yoga Berwick.
Often, the journey of yoga begins with the desire to be more flexible and to learn how to relax. Over time this desire transforms into a thirst for knowledge on the philosophy of yoga. Many students attending yoga classes at Body Yoga, Berwick have begun to involve themselves in their practice on a more serious level and are looking to learn more about the art and science of yoga. A great place to start is by reading “The Tree of Yoga” by B.K.S. Iyengar. This is a beautifully written book by the yoga master himself which is easy to read and understand. I highly recommend it to all yogis. Happy reading.
“When your body, mind and soul are healthy and harmonious, you will bring health and harmony to those around you and health and harmony to the world not by withdrawing from the world but by being a healthy living organ of the body of humanity”. ~ BKS Iyengar
Ultimately the practice of yoga brings us into union with our true self. At Body Yoga Berwick, we practice yoga as our meditation and our means to stilling the busy mind. The way to stillness is learning how to be present to each moment. To support your yoga practice and to offer a deeper insight into how we can integrate stillness into daily life, I highly recommend Eckhart Tolle’s book – “The Power of Now”. This is a powerful book and a “must read” for everyone.
