Wear loose, comfortable clothing such as leggings/tracksuit /shorts and a singlet or t-shirt. During winter, the studio is heated so it is advisable to wear different layers of clothing as we do warm up! During the summer months the studio is air-conditioned.
Just bring yourself! Mats and all other equipment are provided. If you are prone to sweating heavily, it is advisable to bring your own mat for hygiene reasons. Quality yoga mats and all other yoga equipment can be purchased from the studio.
Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach, therefore students are advised to wait 3 hours after a large meal and 1 1/2 hours after a small meal before practicing yoga. Yoga not only involves the muscles but also the vital organs of the body, including the digestive system, therefore it should be done on an empty stomach.
It is advisable not to drink during class so students are encouraged to remain well hydrated throughout the day. A drink bottle may be taken if it is necessary to drink after class. Food and Gum is not permitted in the studio under any circumstances.
YES! These are all good reasons to start yoga but always consult your medical practitioner prior to commencing class if you have any serious condition. If students are generally healthy and just have a cold, headache or the like they may still attend class and may even find they feel better afterward.
Once a week for new beginners is adequate however once the first 8 week course has been completed, twice a week is recommended in order to gain the full benefits.
Absolutely! Students are encouraged to make up missed classes which can be taken from any of the available class times as long as the student is currently enrolled. To maintain the continuity of practice, it is advisable to make up missed classes within the same week where possible.
