FAQ’s

What do I wear to class?

Wear appropriate firm, fitting clothing such as leggings/shorts and a singlet or t-shirt. Baggy clothing is not ideal. Yoga is practised in bare feet.

Do I need my own mat?

Mats and all other equipment are provided for your use.

How often should I attend class?

Beginners can commence with 1 class per week and then add an additional class for maximum benefit.

Can I eat before class?

Yoga should be practised on an empty stomach, therefore students are advised to wait 3 hours after a large meal and 1 1/2 hours after a small meal before practising yoga.  Yoga not only involves the muscles but also the vital organs of the body, including the digestive system, therefore it should be done on an empty stomach. Prenatal students should eat as required. Food and Gum is not permitted in the studio under any circumstances.

Can I bring a water bottle to class?

It is advisable not to drink during class so students are encouraged to remain well hydrated throughout the day.

Can I do Yoga if I’m injured or have an on-going illness?

Always consult your medical practitioner prior to commencing class if you have any serious condition.  Yoga can generally be practised with injuries and illness but always advise your teacher PRIOR to class. If students are generally healthy and just have a cold, headache or the like they may still attend class and may even find they feel better afterward.

What if I miss a class?

Classes can be made up from any of the other class times available, within the validity of the pass.  It is the students responsibility to attend the number of classes purchased within the period of the pass.  Passes are not refundable or transferable.

What payment methods are accepted?

Cash, eftpos and credit card (MasterCard and Visa) are all accepted at the Body Yoga Studio.  Class passes, Workshops and Gift Certificates can also be purchased  online.
