Yin yoga

Yin yoga is a slower paced style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time, usually around two to five minutes per pose.

Yin yoga targets the connective tissues of the body (tendons, fascia and ligaments) with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility, particularly around the hips, pelvis and lower spine. It is suitable for almost all levels of students and is the perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasise internal heat and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. With its long holds in poses, Yin Yoga offers deep stretching which helps to free up energy as well as being more meditative which cultivates awareness and inner silence.

Yin Yoga is suitable for all ages as well as during pregnancy and post natal.
